The island's inshore fishermen unload their fish and shellfish at the Roscoff fish auction and at the Batz market. Goémoniers also practise their ancestral skills along the island's coastline. The landscapes of the island of Batz are best explored on foot or by bike along the many footpaths. The pedestrian coastal path takes you to the not-to-be-missed sites of the trou du serpent, a legendary rock on the western tip of the island; the lighthouse, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the island and coastline; the ruins of the Saint-Paul church, more commonly known as the Sainte-Anne chapel; and the maison du Corsaire, built in the early 18th century on the southern tip of the island.
