Le Parc d'attraction du végétal: magnificent gardens
Don't miss a visit to this unique theme park just outside our campsite in Angers! Terra Botanica is unique in that it is both a horticultural park and a leisure park just outside Angers.
A stroll through thousands of plant species and pollinating insects from 5 continents would already have been quite a journey. But Terra Botanica goes one step further to offer you an even more fun experience!
In the midst of its extraordinary gardens, the park has come up with 4 playful itineraries: Adventure game, botanical itinerary, children's itinerary and must-see attractions.
With Le colporteur de rêves, you'll accompany a horticulturist from Angers on his adventures inspired by the fairy tales of Perrault, Grimm and Andersen, before extending the magic in a cabinet of plant curiosities.
In the Garden of Legends, you'll discover the region's old stories and curses, and the plants of yesteryear in the plant maze. The two daily 4D films will take you on the incredible journey of a drop of water from the ground to the heart of the plants, or through the exotic jungle of a dinosaur reserve at the wheel of a jeep... Emotions guaranteed.
On the water, you can sail on a gabarre on the Botanical Odyssey, and in the air, you can take to the skies in a helium-filled balloon to see Terra from the air, or try an adventurous treetop walk... It takes just 15 minutes to get to the park from the Slow Village!
A change of scenery in Angers' botanical gardens
Terra Botanica takes you to every continent, to diverse worlds where vegetation takes on forms that are sometimes surprising or totally unknown.
The Comptoirs du Monde (World Counters) and the Serre aux Papillons (Butterfly Greenhouse) will give you the impression of having taken part in ancient expeditions to the farthest reaches of the Amazon or the depths of Asia. In the heart of lush, hostile environments, discover the astonishing journey of products so common today along the Spice Route.
In the Greenhouses of Extreme Climates, you'll understand the interaction of soil on plants and plants on soil. From Mediterranean gardens to Asian rice paddies, from banana trees to coffee plants, it's a fascinating journey.
Let yourself be guided between redwoods and Neolithic tree ferns in the footsteps of the Origins of Life, and take a Color Bath by (re)discovering the cultivation and characteristics of saffron or broom, used for ages to give color to the world.
And return to the calm of Anjou for an Escapade in the aromatic and medicinal gardens of our grandmothers, full of forgotten vegetables, and to admire the first roses brought to the region by King René. An unexpected visual and olfactory voyage...
