Finistère's culinary specialities

Discover the Loire-Atlantique terroir

In Loire-Atlantique, the sea is omnipresent in our cuisine. Discover freshly caught fish, seaweed and shellfish. The famous gâche nantaises, sweet brioches typical of the region, add a gourmet touch to your stay.

The tastes and flavours of Charente-Maritime

The iodized flavors of Charente-Maritime invite themselves onto your plate: oysters from Marennes-Oléron, mussels from Bouchot and fish from the coast. On the Île de Ré, let yourself be tempted by early potatoes and locally harvested salt. The region is also renowned for its cognacs and pineaux, spirits that are perfect for any occasion.

The Landes region and its culinary specialities

The Landes region is a real paradise for lovers of tasty meats. Duck breast, duck hearts and foie gras-based dishes are all must-tries. Pair them with a local red wine for a typically Landes meal.

Périgord Noir cuisine

In the Périgord Noir region, gastronomy is rich and generous. Foie gras, black truffles and duck confit are emblematic specialties. And let's not forget porcini mushrooms, prized for their unique flavor, and walnuts, which add a local touch to desserts.

Gard specialities

The Gard offers a southern cuisine full of sunshine and Mediterranean flavors. Local olives, olive oil, brandade de morue and tapenades accompany traditional lamb and fish dishes. The region's famous Côtes du Rhône wine is an excellent accompaniment to your meals.

Anjou and its flavours

Anjou, a wine region, invites you to discover its white wines, such as the famous Coteaux du Layon, as well as its fruit, particularly apples and pears. Rillons (pork sausages cooked in their own fat) and Pays de Loire goat's cheese are must-tries.

Île de Ré wines

The history of vine-growing on the island dates back to the 13ᵉ century: cultivated by the Cistercian monks of the Châteliers abbey, it continued to exist on the island long after their departure driven by the Wars of Religion. By 1950, vine-growing was at its peak on the island, occupying more than 2,000 hectares. It was also at this time that the island's winegrowers decided to form a wine cooperative.
